Coty’s
story represents a beautiful synergy of conventional and complementary
medicine. After an acute illness, she was unable to get up out of her
bed and became incontinent. A holistic vet ran tests that gave important
diagnostic information and treated Coty with acupuncture. Homeopathic
remedies kept her on the road back to health.
After
working with Mazie for several weeks, my colleague Dee dee and I referred
to her as “Mazie the Wonder Dog.” Lost for ten days, Mazie
was finally found trapped between two buildings and unable to move. She
was brought back to health with homeopathy and tender loving care.
Affectionately
known as “Rory”, she suffered from an inflamed, pus exuding
eye and demodectic mange. Several homeopathic remedies were used to clear
up her eye infection, stop the skin itching, and bring her spirit back.
Winter was brought in for treatment because of her timidity. She couldn’t
look you directly in the eyes and if she went to the dog park, she tried
to run away. Homeopathy calmed her spirit and gave her the ability to
trust and bond.
Newton, a 1-1/2 year old French Mastiff suffered from chronic skin problems
with scratching and sores that only continuous antibiotics could control.
A Traditional Chinese Medical diagnosis followed by herbal and acupressure
treatment returned him to balance and health, so his human could sleep
through the night.
Samantha, an 11 year old female Maltese was on doggy “Prozac”
because of great anxiety that prevented her, or her humans, from sleeping
at night. Although too drugged out to function normally, it appeared she
still suffered from anxiety. Her humans searched for alternatives to restore
their happy dog. Traditional Chinese Medicine uncovered the underlying
cause of her problem, and treatment with herbals and acupressure enabled
her to stop the anti-depressant and return to balance and calmness.
Hit by a car as a kitten, Dicken survived, was treated long distance
(not in person), and healed nicely with homeopathy. He is now two years
old and able to run and play like all the other cats.
Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and homeopathy worked together to
save this kitten from a severe case of cryptosporidium. The combination
of these three approaches eliminated the parasites, stopped the unrelenting
diarrhea, and restored health. Bramble was able to grow up to be a large,
robust cat
Bailey, a 4-1/2 year Siamese cross needed to rid himself of chronic constipation
and discomfort. Although he was on conventional medication, he was lethargic
and his bowel movements were like fossilized rocks which he deposited
wherever he could relieve himself. Herbs and acupressure helped Bailey
become more comfortable. The treatments allowed him to go on a regular
basis, and in the designated box.
Bolero,
a 7 year Arabian/Andalusian gelding, would throw himself over backwards to
avoid the bit. He was extremely distrustful of humans and avoided the saddle
or ground work. We worked to Bolero to uncover the underlying imbalances
that created the situation, using Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupressure/acupuncture,
herbs and understanding.
Leroy,
a 10 year old Quarter Horse, western trained to work “cows”
and barrel race, was extremely tense in his poll, withers, and rump. He
had problems bending and flexing and would bite if someone approached
his head, unless they worked very, very slowly and carefully. Finding
Leroy’s problems using Traditional Chinese Medicine was a challenge,
and, finally with everyone’s patience, we were able to make a breakthrough
so that Leroy could become the fabulous trail horse he is today.
From infertility to common childhood illnesses, homeopathy works effectively,
less invasively, and often better than conventional treatment.
